Contra × Base44  ·  playbook

Base44 Expert.
Take this one first.

Eight people hold this badge. The program opened 19 May 2026 and Contra still flags the network as "just getting started." The entire technical requirement is two Base44 projects. This is the cheapest badge on the board and it will not stay this cheap.

Why this one first

Contra's Base44 page carries a "New to Contra" flag and the line "This expert program is just getting started!" - it doesn't even show the hired/opportunity stats yet, because there isn't enough volume to show.

That's the entire opportunity. Compare the networks you'd be joining:

  • Base44 - 8 experts. You'd be roughly the ninth person listed.
  • Kittl - 61. Ideogram - 72. Anything - 98. Framer - 1,900+.

The one visible Base44 expert right now is at $1k+ earned, 2× hired, 261 followers. You're at $1k+, 3× hired, five badges and a 5.00 rating. You are not the underdog here.

Early networks are how badges get cheap. A year from now this brief will ask for five projects and a paid plan, like every other program eventually does.

Build the two apps

Day 1 · the whole job

Base44 turns natural-language prompts into working web and mobile apps. Don't build a todo list. Build the two tools you'd actually use in your own business - that way the case study writes itself and "quality and originality" takes care of itself.

  1. Create your Base44 account

base44.com. Use thehardikdewra@gmail.com so it matches your Contra account - that's the address the acceptance email goes to. The brief only requires an "active account," so start on free and only upgrade if you hit a wall.

  2. App 1 - Landing Page Teardown Scorecard flagship

Paste a URL, answer a CRO checklist, get a scored report you can hand a client.

This is your $800 "Website Profit Leakage Audit (48 Hours)" service turned into software. Sections for above-the-fold clarity, offer, social proof, friction, mobile, speed. Weighted scoring, a total out of 100, and a prioritised fix list at the end.

Why it lands: it's a real commercial tool built by someone who sells the underlying service. Reviewers can tell the difference between that and a weekend demo instantly.

  3. App 2 - Client Intake & Brief Builder

A client fills in a guided form; you get a structured design brief out the other end.

Questions on business model, offer, audience, competitors, brand assets, must-have sections, deadline. Output a clean brief you can paste straight into Figma or a proposal. Add a share link per client so it doubles as a lead magnet.

Why it lands: different shape to app 1 - forms, state, generated output rather than scoring. Two apps that show two different capabilities beats two that show one.

  4. Deploy both and test the links logged out

Base44 deploys what you build. Get the live URL for each, then open both in a private window while signed out. If a reviewer hits a login wall or a 404, that's a dismissed application - the brief says so in as many words.

  5. Add the three tags Base44 put on the listing

Their opportunity is tagged Web Designer, Mobile Designer and Base44. Add all three to your Contra skills and tools. Web Designer you already have; the other two you need.

Your visible tools list shows 28 entries with 22 more hidden behind a "+22" control I couldn't expand from outside. Check the hidden ones before adding duplicates.

  6. Publish one Contra case study

Not demanded by this brief, but Contra's application form tells you linked projects are 50% more likely to be read, and "quality and originality of work" is half the stated judging criteria. Lead with the Teardown Scorecard.

Contra's curation team wants a centered, high-resolution cover image at 1600 × 1200, several images inside, a description covering the work, the client and your role, and a live link. Tag it Base44.

Write the pitch and send it

30 min

One box, 1,500 characters, same form as every Contra expert program. Paste your two live links into the slots above, then hit "Drop in my 2 links" to swap them into the draft.

  1. Submit

Open the application → Apply to be an expert → paste the message → attach your case study under Link Example Projects → Submit. No edit button afterwards, so read it once more first.

  2. Wait two weeks

Reviews run bi-weekly. Email arrives only if you're in. Most Contra tool partners don't reply to unsuccessful applicants at all, so silence past four weeks means reapply with better work rather than chase.
